Fun in the Sun
We headed to Florida for almost 2 weeks at the end of March/beginning of April. We had an awesome vacation and it was so nice to get away from cold Michigan for a while! We are lucky enough to have a place to stay in Cocoa Beach at Boppy and Dzia Dzia's condo!
Macy got a special gift before we left for the airport: Frozen on DVD! (it definitely helped entertain her during our travels!)
Catching the sunrise from the condo balcony!
Ready for a splash in the pool!
An evening walk on the beach
Macy was much more into playing in the sand on this trip than she's ever been before
First glimpse of the beach
They were doing a beach restoration project that had some tractors and trucks running up and down the beach the first few days we were there. Macy liked playing in the tire tracks!
This one just cracks me up
Pool time!
Macy was pretty hesitant in the water when we first got to Florida, but by the end of the trip she was "swimming" all by herself!
Boppy and Dzia Dzia came down to the condo a few days after we got there and watched Macy for a couple of days while Mumma and Daddy had a little getaway to Key West. We had an awesome time!
Dinner with the sunset
Southernmost Point
When we returned from Key West, our friends Aaron and Jessica came down to Florida for a few days with their boys, Braxton and Wyatt. We had lots of fun together!
Macy, Wyatt and their Daddies. Macy and Wyatt were best buddies on this trip!
Waiting to see the fish TJ, Aaron and my dad caught on their fishing charter!
They only caught one, but it was a pretty big Mackerel!
The only non-selfie picture we managed to get of the 3 of us---right before we left for the airport!
Our plane's here! Heading home!
It was nice to return to a nearly snow-less Michigan and some better weather than we left! We had a great time in Florida and can't wait to do it again next year!!

The Happiest Place on Earth
We spent one day at Disney World (Magic Kingdom) on our Florida vacation. I was there once when I was a little kid, but it was both Macy and TJ's first time there. We wound up with perfect weather (sunny and low 70's, so not too hot!) and had quite a bit of luck with lines. I don't think we waited for anything for more than 15-20 minutes, and we got to meet quite a few characters and go on quite a few rides. I would recommend that anyone with small children take them to Disney if they can. I'm a big sap, but I was actually fighting back tears when Macy was meeting the princesses and other characters. It is just so amazing to see it all through the eyes of a little one that truly believes in all of the magic. Macy's favorite ride was Aladdin's Magic Carpets and her favorite characters were Snow White, Minnie Mouse, and Tinkerbell. We had a wonderful day! It really might be the happiest place on earth!
Waking up in her Princess Nightgown! Ready to rock!
We're Here!
First character meeting--Cinderella!
Aurora asked Macy if they could be sisters because they have the same color hair!
Snow White was her favorite princess. She's never even seen the movie, but for some reason, she really liked her.
She really liked Minnie Mouse too!
Outside the Under the Sea ride, which we thankfully used a fast pass on, because the lines were long all day!
We sort of happened upon Tinkerbell and there was almost no wait because the parade was going on-it was a lucky find because Tink was one of Macy's favorites!
Riding the Magic Carpet
Mickey!
Taking a break and riding the train (this was moments after we found out MSU lost to UConn in the Elite 8---so we needed some snacks and relaxation to cheer us up!)
Cinderella's Castle!
Macy's Minnie Hat
The Happiest Place on Earth?? We were tired and hungry and not holding up so well in line for the teacups
Teacups (cheering up-but not too much!)
In a state of extreme exhausted silliness on the ride home!
Aaaaand 5 minutes later...
Incidentally, the wand that Macy was holding in most of the pictures was from the dollar store, which we bought the day before and honestly only brought along with us by chance. It ended up being a big hit with the princesses...and a whole lot cheaper than one from Disney would have been!!
We had a wonderful day and will look forward to doing Disney again in a couple of years when Macy can get a bit more into the rides and things like that. Thanks Mickey!
