Summer Catch-All

Now that summer is almost over and I have not been doing so well on keeping the blog up to date, I wanted to include one more post of some of my favorite (mostly iphone) photos of what we've been up to this summer that didn't quite fit in the other posts!
Cruising on the Proud Mary!

Getting up close to the light house!

Breaking in her Dora fishing pole (she LOVES fishing-just like her Daddy!)

Captain and his First Mate

Georgia's birthday party-2 princesses ready to party!

Macy and Georgia with Boppy and Dzia Dzia

Georgia with her Daddy and Crystal

My beautiful god-daughter and I!

Back in June we went up to the Mausolf's cabin for a weekend with Mike, Leah and Jacob.  We went to a park one day and Macy LOVED this "bee swing."  She still asks about it!

First s'more of the summer!

Macy and Grandma grew these sunflowers from seed!  They bloomed very nicely!

We made a trip to the Chicago area for Uncle Matt and Amanda's bridal shower, then made a pit-stop in Wisconsin to see the Eppler's on the way home!  Baby Drew is catching up to Macy!

One of Macy's favorite things this summer has been lady bugs!  She loves playing with them and putting them on her arm/hand so they can walk around and "tickle" her!

Beach day with Lily and Bella

Bubbles!

We went to the petroglyphs and on a nature hike with Mr. Varner, Renee, Bresnan, and Bryn!  These little hikers made it the whole trail!

I mustache you a question.

Macy had her first putt-putting experience.  Let's just say Bryn is a little more of a seasoned golfer than Macy!

Another ride on the Proud Mary.  This time with Julia!

Day trip to the Saginaw Children's Zoo with Aunt Sarah, Lily, and Bella

Popsicles at the beach!

It's a Zoo out Here!

We FINALLY took the family trip to the Detroit Zoo that we've been planning for over a year.  TJ got me tickets for us to go to the zoo for my birthday LAST year, and we never went.  So THIS year we made sure we made it there.  In fact, the trip ended up being on TJ's birthday!
Daddy and Macy outside the butterfly house

Checking out the otters

Not the best picture-but wanted to capture the gorilla.  We were watching him through this window when he got up, walked over right in front of us, then laid down to take a nap in the shade!  It was so cool to get so close!

Macy the prairie dog

Riding the carousel.   Macy insisted on riding "Nemo!"

Fun at the Fair

This year we went to the Huron Community Fair with Aunt Noreen, Kayla, Avery, Harmony, Aunt Debbie, Amber, Breanna, Jayda, and Noah.  Whew--it was quite a group!  We had so much fun and Macy had a blast riding the rides with her cousins!  Here are some favorite photos:
Ready to ride!

White-knuckling the dragon rollercoaster!

Top of the Ferris Wheel!

Macy and Harmony on Macy's favorite ride, the "kite ride"

Wild animal on the carousel!!

We can't wait for the fair to come again next year!!

4th Of July

This year we were so excited for the 4th of July in our new house with front row seats for the fireworks!  We also sort of made the day our housewarming party and had so many of our friends and family spend the day with us.  It was a lot of fun!
Ready for the Parade!

I saw this hairdo idea on Pinterest, and it actually turned out pretty cute!

Turns out Aunt Sarah was on Pinterest too, because Lily and Bella had stars in their hair too!

These group of ladies has been friends for a long time now, and although we all live in different parts of the state (and Kristin in a different part of the country!), we always manage to get together at least once a year when Kristin is up from Georgia!  It was so fun to have the 5 of us together!

Time for fireworks!!

Happy Birthday, America!

Butterflies!

This spring I ordered a butterfly kit for our niece, Bella, for her birthday.  When I ordered it, TJ encouraged me to get one for Macy too because he remembered one from his childhood and how cool he thought it was. Of course as a science teacher I couldn't argue, so our first summer activity was born!   We recieved our cup of caterpillars, watched them make their cocoons, and hatch into butterflies!  Macy thought the whole process was pretty awesome, and talks about butterflies and cocoons all the time now.  I got to capture some cute photos the day we released the butterflies outside!

Proud girl with her butterfly cage

Opening up the top!

There they go!

Macy was so excited watching them "flutter" away!

Two of the butterflies were having, uhh, adult butterfly time.  Macy did not understand why they weren't flying away!  The bonus was she got to get a good look at them in the grass where the other ones flew away pretty quickly!  This was so much fun, we'll do it again next year!

3 Year Photos

My talented friend, Megan took some 3 year photos of Macy over Memorial Day weekend in our new yard.  They are great and I love them all!  Here are some favorites.
