Special Time

Now that back to school is in full swing, we don't get to spend all day every day together.  It makes our late afternoons/evenings extra special to have the time together.  We've spent the beautiful weather we've had this September heading to Veteran's Park beach to play in the sand, hunt for beach glass, and swing on the swings.  We've also gone for some nice walks and spent some time in our own back yard.  Tonight I snapped a couple of pictures during our special time out in our yard.

Lucky 7 Months

Hudson is 7 months old!!  This has been quite an eventful month in little Hudson's life!  He has taken quickly to eating food beyond milk.  He loves his orange veggies: sweet potatoes and butternut squash, tolerates his green veggies:  green beans and peas, and seems to like just about all fruit, although not a huge fan of apple sauce and is still on the fence on carrots and avocados.  He is also starting to self feed, and is able to work some puffs, small chunks of banana and things like waffles into his mouth (while dropping most of it on the floor)!  Two teeth came through this month, and he is handling teething like a champ.  We somehow seem to have gotten lucky and have 2 kids who seem barely phased by cutting teeth.

Another big milestone--Hudson has started crawling!  He is still army crawling, but gets up on his hands and knees all the time so the old-fashioned style of crawling can't be far off.  He can also get up into a sitting position from laying down.  Hudson loves his toys and still likes his jumparoo and walker.  His favorite toys seem to be his pacifier and Macy's hairbrush though!  He is such a happy and smiley baby and almost never complains, as long as he's fed and held to his liking!

Back To School

Back to school time has come and gone and we are getting back into the swing of our fall routine.  More big changes for Mumma this year--I went back to full-time teaching.   I am the new 6th, 7th and 8th grade science teacher at North Huron.  It was an opportunity that came at not the best time, but I couldn't pass up because this is my forever job!  North Huron really feels like home to me and it's so awesome to be there, and know I'll be there in the building with my kids through their school careers.

 First day of year 2 of preschool!  Macy is going 3 days a week this year to the same school as last year, Our Savior Lutheran in Bad Axe.  Her teachers are the same as last year, Miss Chelsea and Mrs. Melissa.  Macy LOVES school and is super excited because her buddy Jake is in her class this year!

The Dog Days of Summer

We had a great summer as usual this year!  Between Sunday Fun-days with the Flanagans and Brian, Marlena, Julia, and Grady, our new jet skis, lazy days at the lake, lots of lucky weather on the weekends, a fun 4th and more, we always enjoy our beautiful Michigan summers on the lake.  There truly is no better place to be!!  Here are a few pictures wrapping up our summer events!

Road Trip with the Flanagans

In mid-August we took off on a 5-day RV adventure with the Flanagans!  We headed to Wisconsin, and had a fun time "glamping" and also squeezed in a visit with the Epplers.  It was a fun trip and we hope they'll invite us on more RV trips in the years to come!  =)
