In our 10 years together (7 married), TJ and I have lived in 3 different houses. Our first house (which was originally just TJ's house, but I was in the picture from the beginning) was our house in Highland, which was a major renovation project which TJ did all of the work on himself (along with lots of help from his brother Brian who lived there for a while and lots of other family members and friends). When we moved out of our Highland house and to Port Austin a little over 3 years ago, we decided to rent as the housing market there was still pretty dismal. We decided this year to sell, and said goodbye for good to our first home together when we officially closed in mid-October. We got married there and had Macy there. We also had some really special neighbors that we now consider family there. It was a little sad to say goodbye, but we did sell the house to a young couple, so we hope they can make some wonderful memories there in the same way we did.

Our First Home
Next, we were off to Port Austin. We moved into our "cottage," a house we originally bought when we finally settled on the fact that moving "back home" wasn't going to happen and we were destined to stay in the metro Detroit area. Surprise, a little over a year later, we made it work to move to Port Austin. So, the house we had there worked for a cottage but definitely needed a makeover to be our full time home. On to house project number 2.

| Our Second Home |
We planned to be in this house for a while, but as we have learned, things rarely go as planned, and a house that fit our needs and our budget on the lake became available that we could not pass up. Onto our third home in May 2014. We had to redo some flooring and do some painting (and a small wall removal) but this was by far the most move-in ready house we ever purchased.

Our third home (our forever home....that's the most current plan anyway)!
Right after moving into this house we found out we were pregnant with Hudson. When our little anti-sleeper arrived in February, we realized that a 2 bedroom house just wasn't going to cut it. Thus the third major house renovation project was born (the most extensive project of them all). We are adding on a second story that will include 3 new bedrooms and 2 new bathrooms and more storage space. It's going to be amazing to live in a house that we actually fit in for the first time (for now, anyway!) Our awesome neighbors, the Flanagans offered to let us stay in their house next door for the winter while they are back in Florida so we get a nice view of the project. It has just begun but it's exciting to come home each day and see the progress! We are hoping to be back in by mid-April, early May at the latest!!
