The Polega's Prince

We are so thrilled to welcome our little BOY into the world!!  Thomas Hudson Polega (who we are calling Hudson) was born on Friday February 13, 2015 at 7:49 am.  Our BIG boy weighed 9 lbs., 6 oz. and was 22 inches long.  Daddy was sure he was going to be a girl, Macy was sure he was a sister, and mom kept going back and forth on what she thought.  Hudson surprised us all, and it was again such an awesome moment to find out he was a boy after all of these months of anticipation!  He is such the perfect addition to complete our family!

The week of my due date (2/12) I had my 40 week doctor appointment.  Dr. Macchiarella was leaving  town for vacation on Saturday the 14th, and considering that along with the fact that she thought this baby was getting pretty big (she was right!) and that she wanted me to receive an antibiotic during labor to prevent this baby having any of the complications Macy had when she was born, we decided to induce.  We got a couple of pictures before leaving for the hospital.

What a Ham!!
At 6 pm on Thursday the 12th, we went in for the induction.  It was a long night, mostly sleepless except for a couple of hours (thank you, epidural!) but Hudson was born the next morning!  Our luckiest Friday the 13th ever.  Everything went very smoothly, and Mumma says labor and delivery were much easier the second time--even though he weighed almost a pound more than Macy did!  Hudson is healthy and happy and the whole family was so excited to welcome him home!

My Loves!

The hospital gave us both this cute onesie and a cute Valentine's hat---we just missed having a Valentine's baby, but we were in the hospital for most of Valentine's Day!

Heading Home!!
We had quite a homecoming---we came home on one of the coldest days of the year to find our power out at home and the house was only 50 degrees!  Hudson and I hung out over at the Schwedler's house for a couple of hours until DTE showed up to fix our problem.  We feel a little bad that Hudson will probably always have a COLD day for his birthday---but maybe we'll make up for it by taking him somewhere warm for his birthday one of these years!!  =)

We are so, so excited about our new baby boy!  Macy looooves her brother and is a great helper and a wonderful big sister.  More updates soon to come!

Peanut Countdown

The past few weeks have sort of revolved around...baby prep!  We are ready for Baby Polega #2 to come any time now.  My official due date is February 12- the day after tomorrow!  I had my "40 week" (39 week, 5 day) doctor appointment today and there are no clear signs that Peanut #2 would like to arrive on time!  Things happened reasonably quickly with my labor with Macy though, so you never know.  I guess he or she is nice and cozy in there!  Mumma, on the other hand, is ready to serve an eviction notice!  Macy is very excited to meet her baby brother or sister.  She predicts that it is a sister, but announced the other day that she could love a brother too.  We are happy to hear that, because there are no returns on this one!

Going back a couple of weeks, here are 36 week belly photos.  Planning to get in one more set at 40 weeks on Thursday, but we're waiting until we actually make it to 40 weeks!

Here's a little comparison, just for fun.  Macy at 37 weeks, Peanut #2 at 36 weeks.  I feel like it is not just my imagination that my belly is way bigger this time!!!

Merry Christmas!

We had a great Christmas this year!  All three of us were healthy and we had so much fun.  This is the first year Macy has really been old enough to really understand the idea of Santa, and we even had a special visitor at our house for the first time this year, Olivia the Elf!  Here are some photos of all of our Christmas fun!
Olivia came from the North Pole on December 1st to keep an eye on Macy for Santa!  Macy loved looking for her new location each morning!

Polega Family Christmas was our first celebration this year.

TJ's Grandma wanted a picture of all 4 boys for her living room.  She should have been a little more specific on what kind of photo she wanted!  :)

Grandma and Grandpa with all 4 girls (too bad Macy blinked!)  Next Christmas there will be 6 grandchildren in the Polega family (adding ours and Brian and Marlena's due in June)!!

The only photo of the 3 of us I managed to get this year.

 Cousin bath time!

The week of Christmas Macy and I completed some fun Christmas projects--including making sugar cookies!

 And building a gingerbread house!

Boppy and Dzia Dzia, Uncle Mikey and Georgia, and Uncle Randy all came over for breakfast and gifts Christmas Eve morning.

The big gift from Santa---a dollhouse!!

Our last Christmas party was Christmas afternoon at Aunt Debbie and Uncle Wade's house.  We managed to get a pretty good shot of all of the kids!

About to tear into some gifts!

It was an awesome Christmas!  Here's to many more just like it in our future!

It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas

We have been having fun prepping for the holidays.  It has been a hectic fall, and I think we are all looking forward to some quiet downtime that winter always brings!  Of course, our down time will be cut short this year when Peanut #2 arrives in mid-February!

Here are some photos of what we've been up to:
We had fun visiting with the Epplers over Thanksgiving weekend.  This is the best photo I managed to get of Macy and Baby Drew.  He loved her Minnie chair!

Christmas tree shopping!  This year we were joined by Brian, Marlena and Julia.

Ready to pick some good ones!

Chopping down our #1 pick

Decorating the tree at home!  This ornament was Macy's pick from Bronners for the year.  It has a little hummingbird "flying"  inside of it!

Hanging the first ornament

We are 32 weeks pregnant today.  Everything has been going pretty smoothly and aside from some aches and pains and an extra bout of exhaustion, things are going well.  It is hard to believe that we will be a family of 4 in about 2 months.  We are nervous and excited all at the same time!  Yesterday, Macy said "Mumma, your belly is getting really really big because the baby is getting big in there!"  followed by "the baby is taking up all of your space!"  She's got that right!  Here are some 32 week belly pictures

Maternity Photos

When I was pregnant with Macy, I decided I didn't feel like doing maternity photos.  This time around, I was more into the idea, mostly because I thought it would be cute to have Macy in them, not just TJ and I, and I figured it would be a good opportunity to get one last family of 3 photo session in before our second little peanut arrives!  Here are some favorites from our shoot:

Happy Halloween!

Now that it's almost Thanksgiving, I figured I'd better get a Halloween post up!  We had a fun Halloween this year.  I think that Halloween is Macy's favorite holiday.  She has been talking about it for months!  In July she announced that she was going to be a pumpkin for Halloween, and she never wavered.  That is the costume she ended up wearing!  The weather for trick or treating was pretty nasty (cold and windy!)  but we did go trick or treating for the first time.  We just kind of drove to people's houses we knew rather than walking around due to the weather!  Fun was had by all!  Here are some photos:
We made our annual trip to Joe's pumpkin patch to pick out some pumpkins!
