Fun in the Florida Sun!

We spent spring break in Florida this year and had an awesome time!  We headed down to Cocoa Beach and spent a week there at Boppy and Dzia Dzia's condo.  The Epplers synced their vacation with us and rented a place practically next door to the condo, so we got to enjoy lots of time with them too!  Some highlights of the trip:  going to the pool (Macy's favorite) and beach (Hudson's favorite) every day, going to the Brevard Zoo, walking the Cocoa Beach Pier (Macy got to fish off of it), and some delicious seafood dinners, including one adults-only night when Boppy and Dzia Dzia babysat all 3 kids!

Macy LOVED feeding and chasing the sea gulls.  Yes, she was THAT person!!

Sweet Beach Baby
Macy found this ball abandoned on the beach!  It was a hit!
Surf's Up
It was Hudson's first plane trip (he did well!) and Macy was very excited about flying!

Megan and I (along with 3 other girls) spent Senior Year Spring Break 2000 in Cocoa Beach- we were having flash backs in the Ron Jon's parking lot!
After a week in Cocoa Beach we squeezed in a couple of days at the Flanagan's house.  They were gracious enough to allow us to stay in their Florida home too!  It was a fun visit and left us even more excited for summer and having them as our neighbors again.

Happy Easter!

Easter came early this year, but we had the nicest weather we have had for Easter Sunday in years!  We were in the low 60's and comfortably playing outside with no jackets!  It was a beautiful, fun weekend.
On Saturday we went to the annual Easter egg hunt at Gallup Park.  Hudson's first that he actually participated in, as he was a tiny baby in the baby Bjorn last Easter egg hunt!

We colored Easter eggs on Saturday evening.
Georgia and Uncle Mikey came up Saturday and stayed the night

Easter morning was so much fun for everyone!  The Easter bunny came and hid baskets for everyone, and also hid around 60 eggs filled with little goodies around the house for the girls to find.  They were running around and shrieking with excitement for over an hour searching for eggs and baskets!  Fun for them and fun for me too seeing them have such a great time.

Scoping out the loot that the bunny left!
"We love you, Easter Bunny!"
The girls with their eggs before cracking them open to see what's inside!
Mostly into playing with the empty eggs
Colored eggs for breakfast
We took a few pictures after church.  Not bad for automatic timer set up on the back of TJ's truck!

Testing out some bubbles from her Easter basket

Showing Hudson on the move.  He was a super early crawler but has been slow to get really into walking.  Crawling is just so much more efficient.  He has been walking more and more lately though, as you can see here!

House Update

Happy Spring!  I wanted to give a quick update on the house project.  It is coming along and really starting to look like a house again---although there is still plenty of progress to be made.  We are still on track to be back in by late April/early May.
Front of house-before
Front of house today---Siding is about 2/3 done!

Back of house- before

Back of house today!  No siding on the back yet, as you can see.

This was about 6 weeks ago---no drywall yet!  You can see into the master bedroom from the front door.

Our cabinet-less kitchen
Our new fireplace--this is its current state- still some work to do there!
Progress-the living room is dry walled, painted, and the stair rail was put in this week!  The upper rail is still missing, except 1 lonely post.
Kitchen/laundry/hallway/bath tile-TJ and Brian are working on installing it right this moment!

Upstairs loft/living area.  We have a whitewashed tongue and groove ceiling here- I do not like the paint color and we are changing it to something grey-er to contrast with the ceiling better.
Macy's yellow bedroom (with my piano currently being stored in the middle of it!)
Hudson's room is CRAZY- so many ceiling lines, plus a beam.  The navy is 1 accent wall, the rest is grey.

Not the best lighting but looking down into the living room from upstairs
It's been quite the project!  We are excited to see it coming together and can't wait to move home and have so much more space than we had to begin with!
