Christmas Vacation

We have really been enjoying our Christmas vacation!  We've been lucky enough to spend the past week without work or any of the typical stresses of life, and still have a couple of precious days left.  Macy had a great Christmas, here are a few pictures.

Unwrapping an early gift in front of the tree

Hanging with cousins Isa and Zia

In her Christmas dress!

Some major Christmas morning bed head!

Scoping out the stocking goodies

Macy loooves the moon and is always looking for it outside...she did not have the book Goodnight Moon, so I thought it was pretty fitting.  It's her new favorite bedtime book!

Her biggest gift...a Dora kitchen from Boppy and Dzia Dzia

Hanging with more cousins

Eating cookies with Georgia and Dzia Dzia

Looove this picture of Macy and Mumma!

Now we're on to general Christmas break activities...watching one of her new DVD's snuggling with her stuffed animals

Her "this camera flash is bright!" face

Rocking her new sneaks and Spartan Girl shirt for the Spartan's bowl game day!

Macy and Georgia got matching sleds for Christmas from my sister so Mike and I took them for their first sledding adventure at Gallup Park!

Happy New Year everyone!  We are hoping 2013 is as awesome as 2012 was!

Ho Ho Ho

It's been about a month since the last blog post again.  We had a nice and fun thanksgiving weekend, but unfortunately I wasn't very good at taking pictures!  This weekend Santa paid a visit to Port Austin so we went to see him.  It was a cute event, but Macy was not so keen on Santa.  She was not willing to sit in his lap!  We had fun anyway though!

Writing Macy's letter to Santa

Macy has gotten pretty into coloring over the last couple of months.  She was much more into coloring on the letter than writing it.  Good thing she had Mumma to help her!

Meeting Santa...a little unsure

This was the reaction we got shortly after trying to sit her in Santa's lap

Willing to go along with it as long as Mumma holds her!

We did a photo shoot today to get some pictures to send on our Christmas cards.  It consisted of a 97-cent roll of wrapping paper from Wal-Mart and Macy in a cute outfit.  I had these Pinterest-inspired visions of draping her in Christmas lights but it turns out that Macy is TERRIFIED of Christmas lights.  I have no idea why but whenever I tried to get them near her she screamed.  So, we settled for a strand of sparkly garland.  These aren't the best shots, because I'm saving those for the Christmas cards but here are a couple...

What's going on here?

Shouting her hew favorite phrase:  "Up! Up!"

This gives you an idea of the reaction the Christmas lights got

Whoops...backdrop malfunction!

We are looking forward to the Christmas season.  We think Macy will be more into it this year, where last year she was too little to really have any idea what was going on or have much interest in her gifts.  More pictures are certain to come!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from our little Owl!  We had a fun night passing out candy at home, then visiting Dzia Dzia & Boppy, Grandma & Grandpa, and the Schwedler's.  Thanks to Megan for Macy's awesome costume!  She loved it and so did Mumma and Daddy!

Costume from the back

Best shot I could get of Macy from the front.  She did NOT want to stand still!

Busted!!

Macy liked Boppy's bat headband

With Boppy and Dzia Dzia in their silly costumes.

Rockin out with her Halloween loot!

Having a Fun Fall!

We have been busy as usual the past month or so, but we have had some time to squeeze in some fun fall activities.  We picked out pumpkins at the Mausolf's, traveled to Wisconsin for a weekend to visit Megan and Kris, played in the leaves, and carved/painted pumpkins.  Macy also had her half birthday...she is officially 18 months old!  She is even more fun and talkative than ever and is really such a joy to be around.  We are blessed!

Ready to pick out some pumpkins!

Look at them all!

This one looks good!

Picked one!

Macy was a really big fan of the little gourds AKA "balls"

Hanging out with Julia...best picture I could get of the two of them!

A more accurate portrayal of how the photo shoot was going.

We went to Wisconsin to visit Megan and Kris, and I was awful at taking pictures...in fact the next 2 pictures are the only ones I took!  Luckily Megan was much better at getting some great pictures!

Helping Uncle Kris build a chair

Not so happy!

And Megan's camera comes out...muuuch better!

Enjoying the Apple Orchard!

Macy loved the slide!

Family of sheep!

Feeding the goat!

Back home in Port Austin...running in the leaves!

Fun!

Macy loved "driving" through the leaf pile.

Here she comes!

Right through the leaves!

18 Months in her Minnie Chair and uncooperative with sitting!

Painting pumpkins!

My little artist

All we had were watercolor paints...Macy was as much into dipping her brush in the "wa wa" as painting the pumpkin!!

Finished Product!  Happy Halloween!
