Busy Bees!

I am not sure the word "busy" really does justice in describing the last month and a half of our lives!  School is in full swing, we're still finishing up house projects, Michigan State football season is upon us, and the Polega's have been BUSY!  I haven't updated in so long that this post will contain lots of pictures in attempts to catch up a bit!

Back in August (yes I'm just getting to do something with these pictures I've been too busy to even get them uploaded onto my computer!)  my friend Stephanie took some family photos of us out at Port Crescent State Park.  They turned out AMAZING and we are so thankful to have this special moment in time for our family captured.  It is impossible for me to pick my favorite, so here are some of them.

Macy also recently turned 17 months....it is hard to believe we are already almost half way to two!  It really is true that time flies by so fast when you have a child...and even though we are extremely busy we are doing out best to enjoy every minute!
Macy is still talking up a storm, she probably uses at least 25 (probably more) different words now, and she recognizes some shapes and lots of animals.  She still eats everything in sight.  She has been struggling with separation anxiety dropping her at daycare, but it is improving.  We're down to a small wimper as opposed to the screaming and clinging we were dealing with for several weeks.  Mumma is definitely looking forward to this stage passing!
17 months in her Minnie chair on MSU game day (can you tell?)  When you ask her what Sparty says, she replies "Go Green!"  That's my girl!

We took Macy to the MSU/EMU football game last weekend.  She was a real trooper and made it to half time!

Family Tailgating Photo

I recently found my old teddy bear from when I was little in a box from moving so I washed it and gave it to Macy...as you can see she loves it!

We did a little photo shoot out at Lighthouse Park with Daddy's Corvette

Wild Hair!

Macy and her cousin, Julia, Kinde Polka Fest weekend.  You can't really read it but her shirt says "Made in America with Polish Parts."  TJ and I bought it when I was still pregnant and the smallest size they had was 18 months so she finally grew into it!

I can't promise the next blog post will be any time real soon, but we'll try to stay as up to date as possible with the holidays approaching (hard to believe!)

The Big Apple!

TJ and I went to NYC for a long weekend last weekend.  It was our first "getaway" together since having Macy.  It was also the first time I've been away from her for more than one night!  We had a great time but were very ready to see Macy when we got back...we got a pretty awesome welcome home from her too!
We walked the Highline

...And the Brooklyn Bridge

We rode one of those super-touristy double decker busses!

We took a sunset cruise on the Hudson River.  Here's the Manhattan skyline from the boat.

We're on a boat!

Us and the Statue of Liberty (and a yacht!)

We biked through Central Park

View from our hotel room (which was right in Times Square!)

I started school this week with teacher inservice days at Caseville.  So far it's gone great and everyone on the staff is super nice!  Here is our "Back to School" picture for this year.

I thought going back would be easier this year, but it really hasn't been because Macy has had some serious separation anxiety...screaming and flipping out every morning when I drop her with the babysitter.  It's sooo sad!  I know she's been home alone with me all summer and she'll be just fine in a few days, but it isn't easy!

School starts "for real" with kids on Tuesday, but we're looking forward to enjoying our long Labor Day weekend first!

Moving, Birthdays, and 16 Months!

To say the past few weeks have been busy for us would be the understatement of the year!  We packed up our whole house in Highland and moved it up to Port Austin, then unpacked it all here!  Well, there is still some unpacking to do but the bulk of it is done!  Yesterday we had a birthday party for my brother, Mike's daughter, Georgia, who turned 2 last week at my dad and Chris' house.  Macy also turned 16 months old this week.  Pile on daddy now having to commute to the city a couple of days a week for work, mumma trying to prep for school starting, and a child care search for when mumma goes back to work and you've got yourself a pretty busy time!  We've saved some time for fun in between though, here are some pictures.

Macy hamming for the camera.  I think this is the last picture I took of her in our old house.

Grandma came down on moving day to entertain Macy while we packed up.  What a life saver!

Georgia's birthday party...Macy cheesing!

Macy & Mumma

Macy loooves playing with rocks and found these in Dzia Dzia and Boppy's backyard!

Georgia will NOT smile for pictures so you have to catch her off guard.  I managed to get a couple!

The birthday girl!

Opening presents

Macy picked out this wand for Georgia.  Unfortunately, when Georgia opened it Macy was having trouble with the concept that the wand was Georgia's now, not hers!

Georgia got a Minnie chair just like Macy's!

And a new bike!

Blowing out the candles!

Got 'em all!

Georgia:  Delicately nibbling on the sprinkles

Macy:  Diving in mouth first!

16 months in the Minnie chair (saying "no, no" to picture time!)

If I give you a fake smile will you leave it alone mom?

Take 3:  Much better.

Okay, I'm outta here!

Macy's vocabulary has exploded in the last 2 months.  I would say she says at least 20 words now, maybe more.  She will also tell you the sound that a sheep, pig, dog, cat, and duck make.  Her favorite thing to say is NO, and her second favorite thing to say is her little cousin's name, Julia.  She walks around saying those 2 things CONSTANTLY!  =)

Looking forward to enjoying these last couple weeks of summer!
