Catching Up!

I have been having a hard time keeping up with picture taking and the blog this school year.  My new job in Caseville has been EXTREMELY demanding along with having a toddler running around it's been a busy year to say the least!  I thought I'd throw in a blog post here to do some catching up...so some of these photos are a month or more old!  We are heading to Florida in a couple of weeks for vacation and SOMEBODY has a big 2nd birthday coming up, so we'll definitely have some updates surrounding those important events!

Macy will officially be 23 months old on Sunday.  I thought the first year went by sooo fast but this one has been even faster.  Our family has been through a lot of changes this year...mostly good though!  Macy is talking up a storm, knows many colors and songs and can count to ten.  She surprises us every day with the things she comes up with!!  Here are some photos of what we've been up to!

Enjoying her Valentine's treat from Daddy- a very blue cupcake!

Giving Mumma some love

Science Experiment time!  We made "Oobleck" a couple of weeks ago (corn starch and water).  Macy LOVED digging into this Non-Newtonian Fluid!  =)

She may have also tried to eat some.  Good thing it's edible!

Georgia came over to get in on the fun!  A little hesitant to get messy at first.

Getting into it!

Super Bowl Sunday...ready for the big game!

Hanging with her favorite Husky pup, Jingle!  (We are still watching the Christmas-themed DVD!)

Adorable Valentine Macy made for Mom & Dad at daycare!

Ready for some dog sledding with cousin Julia!

I wasn't kidding---dog sledding.  Go Sam and Frankie!

Talked me into riding the train at Wal-Mart

We visited the Eppler's in WI in February-this is the only picture (on my phone) that I managed to take.  Boo, Mumma.

Macy looooves hummus almost as much as her Mumma!

Enjoying some spring weather...ready to become a regular at the playgrounds again!

Winter Fun!

I haven't been great about picture taking since Christmas.  But we have been enjoying winter (well, as much as you can enjoy it, anyway!)  Macy is now 21 months old...it is so hard to believe she going to be 2 soon!  Macy's still a great eater and talker.  She is now repeating everything we say, and learning some colors and letters.  She also loves to sing...she knows Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star and the ABC song quite well.  She is still majorly into books and loves videos which we try not to watch too much of but is a nice treat.  Her favorites are Baby Genius. Micky Mouse Clubhouse, and a video of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom that I downloaded on my computer from a teacher video site.

Here are some pictures of our latest events!

Julia turned one a couple of weeks ago.  Macy really enjoyed her party!
I love balloons!

Newest obsession---buckling the buckles on restaurant high chairs

Happy Birthday, Julia!

Macy was more than willing to "help" Julia open her presents---and take them for a test drive!

We built our first snowman a few weeks ago!

I LOVE spending time outside!!

Christmas Vacation

We have really been enjoying our Christmas vacation!  We've been lucky enough to spend the past week without work or any of the typical stresses of life, and still have a couple of precious days left.  Macy had a great Christmas, here are a few pictures.

Scoping out the stocking goodies

Macy loooves the moon and is always looking for it outside...she did not have the book Goodnight Moon, so I thought it was pretty fitting.  It's her new favorite bedtime book!

Her biggest gift...a Dora kitchen from Boppy and Dzia Dzia

Looove this picture of Macy and Mumma!

Now we're on to general Christmas break activities...watching one of her new DVD's snuggling with her stuffed animals

Macy and Georgia got matching sleds for Christmas from my sister so Mike and I took them for their first sledding adventure at Gallup Park!

Happy New Year everyone!  We are hoping 2013 is as awesome as 2012 was!

Ho Ho Ho

It's been about a month since the last blog post again.  We had a nice and fun thanksgiving weekend, but unfortunately I wasn't very good at taking pictures!  This weekend Santa paid a visit to Port Austin so we went to see him.  It was a cute event, but Macy was not so keen on Santa.  She was not willing to sit in his lap!  We had fun anyway though!

Writing Macy's letter to Santa

Macy has gotten pretty into coloring over the last couple of months.  She was much more into coloring on the letter than writing it.  Good thing she had Mumma to help her!

Meeting Santa...a little unsure

This was the reaction we got shortly after trying to sit her in Santa's lap

Willing to go along with it as long as Mumma holds her!

We did a photo shoot today to get some pictures to send on our Christmas cards.  It consisted of a 97-cent roll of wrapping paper from Wal-Mart and Macy in a cute outfit.  I had these Pinterest-inspired visions of draping her in Christmas lights but it turns out that Macy is TERRIFIED of Christmas lights.  I have no idea why but whenever I tried to get them near her she screamed.  So, we settled for a strand of sparkly garland.  These aren't the best shots, because I'm saving those for the Christmas cards but here are a couple...

What's going on here?

Shouting her hew favorite phrase:  "Up! Up!"

This gives you an idea of the reaction the Christmas lights got

Whoops...backdrop malfunction!

We are looking forward to the Christmas season.  We think Macy will be more into it this year, where last year she was too little to really have any idea what was going on or have much interest in her gifts.  More pictures are certain to come!
