Beating Those Winter Blues

We have had quite a harsh winter this year.  Lots of snow and lots of cold.  The other day it felt like spring and it was only 35 degrees!  Pretty bad when 35 degrees feels really warm!  We have been keeping ourselves busy and combating cabin fever with some fun activities.

Spartan Girls!

We had some friends over that have a baby and got this seat out for him.  Macy had a pretty good time sitting in it herself!

Fun with stickers

My Aunt Noreen and I took Avery, Harmony and Macy to Sesame Street Live at the Fox Theatre in Detroit.  This was the car ride there.

Look, there's Elmo!

Ready for show time!

We also went to a bounce house place at the Lakeside Mall after post-show naps.

And rode the carousel!

Cupcake Monster

We made our first trip to Splash Village with all of the Polega cousins!  Julia, Bella, Macy & Lily

The girls had a babysitter so the adults could go out for dinner and drinks that night.  This babysitter was pretty impressive---she actually got all of these girls asleep together in Lily's bed like this!

Making Valentines Cookies for Daddy

We had a quick shopping trip to Saginaw and a lunch date at Panera.  Macy thought the Mac and Cheese was all right but was more interested in eating my apple.  At least she went for something healthier!

Happy Birthday Julia!

Julia's 2nd birthday was on January 11th.  She had a birthday party on her birthday and we had lots of fun!  Here are some photos of the event.
Adorable Birthday Girl!

Getting into the cake a little early

Luckily Julia didn't mind Macy helping her open her presents!

Trying on her new high heels!

A little horseback riding

....Luckily Julia also didn't mind Macy helping to blow out her candle!

Topless cake time!

Phone Photo Catch Up

I am constantly snapping pictures of our everyday adventures on my phone, but sometimes I forget to upload them for a while, so I wanted to post some favorites from the last month or so...

Macy got her own snow shovel to help daddy shovel all this snow we've been getting this winter!

First Snow Angel

We went to the library for Holiday Craft Night.  One of the activities was pinecone bird feeders

Macy's favorite activity was decorating sugar cookies

I take that back...her favorite part was EATING the holiday cookie!

I took Macy and Georgia sledding...both girls had a blast!

We had no babysitters for NYE, so we all hung out with Uncle Brian, Aunt Marlena and Julia. Julia thought it was cool to put all of Macy's blocks into her pajamas!  Silly girl!

We got a TON of snow in early January, resulting in 3-4 straight snow days for the local schools.  Macy dressed appropriately!

We also made some snow ice cream

We also played with shaving cream tinted with food coloring.  Macy LOVED it, but it was pretty messy!

Just us girls, hanging out!

TJ was out of town last weekend, so Macy and I went on an "adventure" to Bay City for a little shopping and Macy's first movie in a theater!

We saw Frozen and Macy did great!  She liked the movie and LOVED the movie snacks.

Sick-Mas

What can I say about Christmas this year?  Well, I won't sugar coat it.  Christmas in the Polega household was pretty rotten!  We had a nice Christmas Eve, but that afternoon, TJ and I noticed we were starting to feel funny.  During Christmas Eve mass and dinner at my Aunt Roxanne and Uncle Dan's house things started going really downhill.  We ended up with one of the worst flus we have ever had.  High fever, chills, congestion, the works (we were spared stomach problems and are thankful for that!)  Christmas day we weren't able to go to my aunts' for family Christmas, in fact we weren't even able to open presents with Macy, or even care for Macy for that matter (thank God grandma was available to watch her).  We barely hobbled through presents on the 26th, and a few days later as we were coming out of it, Macy got it, so here we are past New Years, and I can finally say we are for the most part healthy again.  Whew!  That being said, I didn't get much for photos past Christmas Eve, but I did at least get some decent ones!

Christmas Eve morning- gifts and breakfast at Boppy and Dzia Dzia's house!

Georgia with a little wrapping paper tail!  =)

I tried to get some photos of Macy in her Christmas dress before church.  Nice one, huh?

As good as it gets!

I got this photo at my aunt's house Christmas Eve night.  I am now soooo glad I did because this was the last semi-healthy moment of our Christmas season!

This child and her faces

Macy's first gift that is bigger than her- an art easel from Uncle Randy!

Each year on Christmas morning I try to get a photo of Macy in front of the tree with her Christmas jammies on.  This year I was barely functional, so it didn't go that great.  (Money-saving bonus- we got 2 years out of these Christmas jammies which were hand-me-downs from Lily and Bella!)

Tried going without flash, but wasn't well enough to want to bother playing with camera settings!

The next day- Mumma and Dada rallied just long enough to get this pile of gifts opened!

Daddy's little helper!

Whew!  All things considered, we survived Christmas and here's hoping to a better one next year!  We were still thankful that our families are healthy and we were together for the holiday!
