Feeling Fall-ish

Macy and I have officially survived my first week back to school with students.  The week actually went pretty well (aside from the fact that I could barely keep my eyes open past 7 p.m. on Friday!)  Last week, a 0.8 (80%) science position opened up at my school, so I decided to take it.  Basically it means I teach one less class a day than a full time teacher.  When I found out we could work the schedule so I don't have a 6th hour (the last hour of the day), I took it!  It of course means a little less money, but I can't put a dollar amount on the extra time I'll get to spend with my little girl!  This turn of events has really helped me feel better about going back to work, a godsend to all three of us!  =)

Here are a few photos from this weekend and last...Labor Day weekend was the annual Knoblock Family Reunion at Lighthouse Park.  It was the 50th anniversary of the reunion...and Macy's first!  Here are a few pictures:

Macy with my cousin Tracy's daughter, Ava.  Ava LOVES babies and was very excited to meet her new cousin!

This weekend we paid a visit to Uncle Steve, Aunt Sarah, Lily, and Bella.  Since September has been feeling so fall-ish so far we decided to hit up the pumpkin patch.  Here are some cute pictures we got:
Macy and Bella rocking the double stroller

Macy & the Pumpkins

She loved looking at the pumpkins, it was hard to get her to look up for this picture!

Chillin' with the Pumpkins

T.J. and Lily measuring up.

I just love old wind mills like this and thought this scene was so pretty.

So, we're slowly adjusting to this new life of mom working and colder weather, but we'll have as much fun as we can along the way!

Sun, Sand, and....Back to School

Well, I officially survived my first day back to work and Macy's first day of Day Care.  I will not lie and say it was easy.  But, we made it out alive and I'm sure it'll get easier from here on out!  Here's a picture of my little peanut and I before leaving this morning:
Is it obvious that I'm holding back tears??!!

Before today's fateful day back to school, we got to go up to Port Austin to the cottage last weekend for the first time in a couple of weeks.  We took Dzia Dzia and Babcia's boat out to Port Crescent Day Use and spent some time on the beautiful beach.

This is how Macy rolls on the beach till she's old enough for sunscreen!

Catching some rays with Mumma

I just love, love, LOVE this picture.  Definitely frame-worthy.  =)

We also got to visit with some of my family at my cousin Jerry's house in Oak Beach.  He has the most amazing, comfortable hammock in the world...which we got some pics in of course!

My cousin Amber's little girl Jayda took the liberty of rocking us in the hammock.

Last but not least, I set up Macy's booster seat which we'll be using in lieu of a high chair this week.  She will be starting solids soon, so I figured she might as well get used to sitting in it.  She also tends to fuss while we eat dinner, so I figured maybe being up at the table with mom and dad will make her less fussy so we can get a quiet meal in now and then!
I think she likes it!

Could I Be Any Cuter?

I snapped this picture this morning and just love this face.  I think the shirt says it all:

Four Fabulous Months!

It's hard to believe that it's already been four months since our little princess was born.  Everyone tells you that time flies and they aren't kidding...and we've only just begun!  Here are some 4 month pictures:

Her gangsta rapper pose

Bear:  "Hey, Macy, let go of my ear!"

Aww..holding hands with her bear
What a sweetie

Macy has definitely outgrown her bassinet (and hasn't slept in it for a while now) but it's still in our room and I lay her in it while I make the bed each morning.  I washed all of her toys the other day and tossed them into the bassinet for lack of a better place to store them yet...she was having quite a blast with all of her "friends" when I put her in there with them!

It is such a joy to watch Macy grow every day.  I have to go back to work in 2 weeks and I am so much more devastated than I ever thought I would be about it.  I will miss spending all of my days with her so much.  I see articles all the time on helping your child with separation anxiety...but I need an article for mommy separation anxiety!

A Brand New Generation!

This week my friend Kennedy and I took a road trip up to Sutton's Bay, MI (just north of Traverse City) to see our friend Alissa and her daughter Ariana (who is about 9 weeks old) who were visiting from Virginia.  It was quite an adventure because we took Macy with us and Kennedy's son Jacob, who is just about 6 weeks older than Macy.  The trip actually went quite well, and the babies were really good!  Kennedy, Alissa, and I have been friends since high school, and it was pretty cool to get all of our new babies together!  It's a brand new generation of buddies!  Here are some photos from the trip...

Macy and Jacob hanging out at their first hotel stay!  It's a little blurry because I forgot to turn my flash on, but we thought it was hilarious how Macy immediately stuck her fingers in Jacob's mouth and he sucked away!  We'll show them this when they're 16.  =)

Another shot of Macy with her buddy Jacob

Kennedy & Jacob, Me & Macy, and Alissa & Ariana

Macy's trying to hold hands with Ariana. Apparently she's very friendly!

All strapped into their carseats and ready for an afternoon at the park!

Kennedy and I joked that we could be a Ford Taurus commercial.  We managed to get 2 pack-n-plays, 2 strollers, 2 suitcases, 2 beach bags, 2 diaper bags, and several other random things in that car along with both of us and 2 car seats.  As you can see, we were bursting at the seams!

It was a fun trip and we're excited to do it again next summer when Alissa visits and all the kids are running around!

Three is a Magic Number...

Three months old that is!  Macy is already a quarter of a year old and the time seems to be going by faster and faster!

Here is her 3 month picture with her bear:
We went to my cousin Ron and his wife Erin's baby shower today, so we decided to do 3 month pictures while she was still in her cute party dress!

Thought this one was cute too!

I think this one is hilarious.  She is toppling over but if you look close you can see that she's cracking up laughing as she's going down.  It's a little blurry because I moved my camera to catch her as I took the picture!

Here are a couple of other cute pictures I've taken this week:
Not amused.

Finally got a shot of Macy staring at her mobile on her swing.  She just loves that thing. This week instead of just staring, she's started talking (LOUDLY!) to the animals on the mobile as well!

Summer Lovin'

Macy has been a busy baby over the past couple of weeks!!  She was in her first parade (Port Austin 4th of July parade with the Huron County MSU Alumni Club), saw her first fireworks, stayed for a week at her new cottage in Port Austin, and was baptized all in the past 2 weeks!  Here are some pictures from these monumental occasions:

I finally got to meet my big cousin Georgia, who will be one in August.  She's a lot bigger than me now, but I'll be catching up quick!!

Hanging out with Babcia, Dzia Dzia, and Georgia

Lovin' my MSU slippers!!

Ready to catch some rays!!

Trying on my new life jacket for my first boat ride!

On my first sunset cruise with mommy and daddy

Hanging with Dzia Dzia on my first ride on the Proud Mary (our pontoon boat)

My 1st 4th of July (mom's favorite holiday)!!

Bathtime in the bathroom sink at the cottage!  (Yes, the hideous, clashing wallpaper is going eventually)

Wild Thing (after my bath)

Helping mom do laundry up at the cottage

Smiles in the red, white, and blue

This is what I really think of tummy time!

When we got home from up north, we tried out the bumbo seat for the first time.  I'm still a little too small for it, but I'll be rocking it soon!

My beautiful Christening gown that our neighbor Linda made for Macy!

Possibly the only baby ever to fuss a little BEFORE the water was poured over her head, only to get happy WHILE the water was being poured.

Pretty Cake

Thanks a bundle for making my beautiful gown, Linda!

One more milestone that Macy reached last week is she rolled over (back to tummy) for the first time!  I am still trying to catch it on video, and I'll post it when I do.  She's growing so fast and is so much fun!!
